Super League star set for big transfer according to Sky Sports commentator

As we saw crucial defeats for Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves over the weekend and vital wins for Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Leopards a number of players stood out but it was a Hull FC star who produced maybe the stand out moment of the weekend in a Hull derby against Hull KR.

Trailing 6-0 at the break, Hull FC needed a spark and it came as Cam Scott offloaded to Adam Swift who sped through before some brilliant footwork to beat Jack Walker and score.

He would later finish in the corner to wrap up a famous derby win scoring half of the Black and Whites’ points.

He really caught the eye but it seems he will be leaving the club and this was again stated by Mark Wilson on Sky Sports.

“Great try from Adam Swift. They will miss him next year with the winger set to leave the club at the end of the season.”

Swift is expected to join Huddersfield Giants in 2024.

When asked about interest in Swift, Ian Watson said: “Adam would be of interest to us, he’s come here because he’s obviously coming off contracts and stuff. He’s a player that I do like.

“He’s got the right kind of winning mentality that I like. He’s played in big, big games. He knows what it’s all about. He’s got great speed and he can defend as well. So he’s definitely somebody that we’re looking at.”

Asked if this is an area he feels the club needs to address, he said:

” I think there’s a few places we need to look at, but it’s making the team better. Like when we were saying before about building a team, it doesn’t just happen overnight. And because we had one good year last year, it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen again.

“You’ve got to keep building on it and keep getting the right kind of characters in. There’s not much, if you look around probably the leagues, there’s not that much that’s available at this moment in time in terms of that talent.

“So you’ve got to work with kind of what you’ve got and try and make them better and get better. But when people of quality do come around, then you want to try and be in the circle if you like to have a shot at them.”
