Super League star set for big position switch

In recent times we have seen the likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves confirmed major signings for 2024 but one club in the shape of Hull KR have made a statement signing for the rest of the season.

The Robins need the boost after they were beaten by Hull FC in a huge Hull derby and have brought in NRL starlet Brad Schneider.

They take on Leeds Rhinos next week in what could be his debut before a Challenge Cup semi-final clash with Wigan Warriors.

After signing for the Robins, the halfback said:

“I’m excited to get over there and rip in. I had a chat to Willie and the one thing that stood out to me the most was how much he wanted me there. As a player, the confidence that gives me, it’s a wonderful feeling.”

Willie Peters is delighted to have signed someone of Brad’s quality midway through the season:

“It’s a really positive signing for the club at this stage of the season. Brad’s going to give us some much needed depth in the halves, he’s a talented young player who works hard, and that’s what we want at this club.”

What this means for Mikey Lewis and Rowan Milnes remains to be seen.

It was suggested by Mark Wilson on Sky sports that Lewis could be set for a big positional switch:

“Brad Schneider could debut next week for the Robins. What that means for Lewis and Milnes we don’t know, we could see Lewis move to fullback which he has played a little in his career.”

After an injury against Hull FC Lewis could miss the game against Leeds.
