Super League star sent to hospital

Sadly former Man of Steel Paul McShane was sent to hospital last night.

The Castleford Tigers hooker was granted a testimonial this week but in a week he should have been celebrating his copped a big hit on his arm and suffered a suspected fractured forearm leading him to go to hospital for an X-ray.

“It looks like he’s fractured his forearm. We are hoping it’s just a really bad dead arm but he thinks it could be fractured,” Andy Last said on BBC Radio Leeds.

“He went to Pinderfields Hospital for an X-ray. I don’t want to speculate too much. Hopefully it was just had a hefty blow to his arm.

“If it is fractured he will miss a big chunk of the season.”

He also gave a further injury update:

“George Lawler picked up a quad strain in the team run. He had a scan this morning and has a quad strain so we ended up having to call Aaron Willis in late. He did a good job, but I was reluctant to throw him in early and didn’t want to expose him when Salford were running hot.

“ Sam Hall picked up a knock to his knee in practice. That was a bad blow to his knee and he didn’t feel comfortable.”
