Super League star reveals where he wants to be in 2024

Clubs like Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, St Helens and Hull FC have been making headlines recently about the future of their playing squads.

Wigan Warriors have snapped up former Leeds and Huddersfield star Kruise Leeming as well as handing a new deal to promising young hooker Brad O’Neill.

St Helens have done a lot of that too with the likes of James Bell, Curtis Sironen and Konrad Hurrell.

Leeds have also been handing out new deals but not to in form star Blake Austin. The former Warrington star has come out and said he would like to stay but there has still been no concrete update on where Leeds stand on the matter.

He was brutally honest when speaking on Sky Sports this week as he revealed his preference is to stay at Leeds:

“I have got no issues being honest about a contract, I think it is a contract between two parties.

“All I have heard about my prospects of staying at the club are from Rohan’s press conferences.

“The last I heard is that I am in his thoughts so hopefully I can continue to impress.

“My preference is to stay at Leeds, I played in a Grand Final six months ago and I want to keep performing in front of the South Stand.”

He went on to say that he has had no indication form the club about what they want to do:

“I haven’t had an indication from the club. This is where I want to be and where I want to play.

“I understand my age and things like that but when you are playing well you just want to knock it off and hopefully we can settle it soon.”

Austin was appearing on Sky Sports news to collect the Player of the Month Award after Man of the Match displays against Huddersfield Giants and Warrington Wolves.

This has made it clear in the minds of many Leeds fans that Austin should stay especially with reports that Aidan Sezer will be leaving the club which would leave Leeds with two halfback spots to fit.

Their spine has arguably been the main reason behind their resurgence in form as well.
