Last week Eddie Hearn had some big things to say about rugby league.
Hearn was once offered the chance to get involved in the sport but turned it down as he wanted complete control.
He said on The Good, The Bad and The Rugby that rugby league is “absolutely bang in trouble.”
He went on to say that the sport needs more stars.
Now a star of Super League, Hull KR skipper, Shaun Kenny-Dowall has responded to those comments on The Bench podcast saying:
“I think it’s important, we need more access to players and especially with IMG coming in.

“I think Eddie Hearn came out during the week saying that we need more stars and more exposure, so I think it’s really important.
“We need more characters for sure.”
Jon Wilkin then added: “I want players to come out and really think about what they feel or think about the game and say it in their own words.
“I think in this country we’ve become petrified, this football-centric media means that what we’ve decided to do is these straight-back questions but it creates dull interviews where nothing’s said.
“Bring the personality to the table. If you’ve got a personality then get it out there, don’t be scared.
Then co-host Jenna Brooks underlined that that is what IMG want: “Back to IMG that’s exactly what they want. They want to see the person behind the player.”
