There has been plenty of talk about a number of Super League stars who could head down under to the NRL.
One type of player in particular has been halfbacks especially with the likes of Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs in the market for a halfback.
The Tigers even offered Catalans Dragons star Mitchell Pearce a $1.5 million contract which was turned down at first.
Now it is being reported that Pearce is set to join former club Sydney Roosters in 2024 in a surprise reunion according to the Daily Telegraph.
The halfback recently said he is open to a move back down under. He is in the final year of his contract but has an option for another year.
“I’m still open,” Pearce said on SEN.
“I’ll wait and see what happens. The Tigers thing came up. I declined on that, and I was really grateful. It was nice respect from the Tigers but I’m committed here for this season and I’m loyal to the club to try to win the comp this year.
“We’ll wait and see what happens next year. I’m obviously getting older and you appreciate every season you play at this age.
“I still feel like I’ve got some footy in me, but I’m fully committed to this season. I’ll see what happens after that.”
