Super League star makes huge claim

Super League

Salford Red Devils are flying high in Super League and are currently dreaming of a place in the final four of the Challenge Cup as they prepare to take on Hull KR this weekend.

Now one of their star players has made a bold claim about the Red Devils claiming they have the best spine in the league:

“I think that we’ve probably got one of the best spines in the league.

“Me and Marc Sneyd have got quite close this year and we’re always taking the piss out of each but I think he’s gotten better.

“He’s killing it this year and then he’s playing off the back of Brodie who was Man of Steel last year and then there’s Ryan Brierley who has found some great form.

“I think that’s a very hard spine to compete with.

” I’d say Sneyd is in charge. He’s sort plays it more and Crofty’s more of like a running threat. Then Brierley just comes out of nowhere.”

He also explained how Kallum Watkins is the perfect skipper: “People like Kallum Watkins, he’s the ultimate professional. He’s a proper nice guy as well.

“To think of somebody who’s achieved what he’s achieved and they’re still grounded. He is the perfect captain.

“He leads by example and he’s there to speak to you. When all this shit was going on on Twitter he just came and went, ‘I support you mate, I’m with you’.

“So that was good because I was nervous about going into training but he just pulled me straight away and he was just like, ‘nah we understand and we’re with you on it’.

“He’s a great bloke and he’s somebody I do look up to. He was there at Leeds and I was in the academy when he was there. So he was like a big man around town.

“It’s good to play with him now and that’s another pinch me moment. He’s somebody who I have grown up looking up to, even though he’s not that much older than me, I now get to play alongside him.”
