Super League star makes future admission after NRL reports

There has been plenty of interest in Super League halfbacks recently.

Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs both pursued George Williams until he signed an extension at Warrington Wolves.

Lewis Dodd is also a target for many NRL clubs.

But a former NRL halfback in the shape Mitchell Pearce has also stirred up interest namely from the Tigers.

Pearce has addressed this interest speaking on The Bench podcast:

“The Tigers think kind of just came out of the blue and got a fair bit of media back home.

“Obviously they did reach out but look I’m signed here in France and that’s where my heart is at the moment.

“I don’t know next year, it’s up to the club as well with the way the contract is so my focus is purely on giving my all.

“Obviously I haven’t been playing but I want to give it my all, go after this premiership this year and then see what happens.”

He went on to elaborate on what the future holds:

“I don’t know too much about next year. If those opportunities came up then I’ve got to look into it but I’m also really happy here at the moment.

“I love France, I’ve loved my time here and like I say I’ve got a job to do here.

“I’m just enjoying the journey and loving being around the boys here because it’s a great club.

“We’ve got a job to do and I just want to get back out there with the lads.”
