After Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors and Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and Castleford Tigers and Leigh Leopards and Catalans Dragons served up big games at the weekend, the Match Review Panel met today.
The likes of Leeds, Hull KR and Hull FC stars all found themselves in trouble with the Match Review Panel.
A huge 16 players have been charged by the disciplinary panel. A huge six of the 16 charges came from one game between Leigh and Catalans.
Four of them were from Catalans Dragons with Mitchell Pearce fined for a high tackle but he was also cited for being “ungentlemanly” during the game when he threw away Kai O’Donnell’s gum shield.
The panel said:
“Ball carrier’s gum shield has fallen out of his mouth during the tackle. Tackler picks up
mouthguard and throws away from the ruck area. Player behaves in a manner which is
ungentlemanly.”
An interesting citation and one that we don’t often see.
It’s interesting to see that there is no action for this.
