It was no doubt heartbreaking for Hull KR last night.
The Robins battled back from 14-4 down to lead 22-14 late on.
However, you can never write off a team like Wigan Warriors and they scored a try in the last play to make it 22-all.
In golden point extra time Mikey Lewis struck the up right with a drop goal attempt and then in the last minute of the first half of golden point Bevan French carved them open and teed up Liam Farrell for the winner and his hat-trick.
Hull KR should take heart from the fact they were very close to beating the Warriors again and the fact many had them as favourites for the game despite the absence of Jordan Abdull and Lachlan Coote through injury.
That shows how far they have come but things have been made worse by the fact Ethan Ryan has been forced to have surgery less than 24 hours after the game as shared by his dad on social media.
He said:
“Speedy recovery to my boy who currently getting ready to be operated on after last nights game. RL is tough and brutal at times and difficult to watch Hull KR looked after him good, thank-you.”
