Wakefield Trinity winger Tom Lineham has been dropped to the club’s reserves this week.
Formerly of Hull FC and Warrington Wolves, Lineham was one of the top wingers in Super League especially in 2018 when his tries fired the Wolves to the Grand Final.
However, he has struggled to find his feet at Wakefield.
Last week at the Magic Weekend as Wakefield lost to Leigh Leopards, who went down to 11 men at one point and still Wakefield couldn’t score, McDermott was critical of Lineham.
The Wakefield winger seemed set for a crucial try just before halftime that looked set to breath life into the game as contest but dropped the ball.
This came when the Leopards were down to 11.

McDermott said: “That is a shocker. That’s his job to put the ball down there. You have to do better there.”
Lineham wasn’t named in the club’s 21 man squad for the game against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday and instead lines up for the reserves against the Rhinos.
Luke Gale meanwhile could debut for Wakefield against his former club.
David Fifita is also likely to make his first home appearance since returning to Trinity.
