Super League star backs surprise club to make the play-offs

There is a lot of talk who will make the play-offs but one player who has never not made the play-offs has made his bold prediction about who might make the top six.

That is St Helens star Alex Walmsley.

As aforementioned, Walmsley knows all about making the play-offs and he has back Leigh Leopards to surprise the league and make the six after being promoted.

He said on The Last Tackle:

“They’ve signed experience and that’s something that’s showing this season. I think at the start of the year there was probably expectation they’d be in a bit of a relegation battle, maybe externally not internally.

“I think there probably was that expectation that if Leigh survived Super League then they’d had a good year but I think they’re playing really well.

“I think they’ll be pushing for play-offs and to have the likes of Josh Charnley in there who has done it for Wigan on the biggest stage as well, that will really help them.

“For me Leigh are one of those sides that you need to keep a close eye on. They’re performing really well, to go to Wakefield and put 32 points but also keep a nil as well is a sign of good things.

“I think they’ll definitely be there at the end of the year.”
