Super League star appears to confirm Mitchell Pearce’s future

Super League Grand FInalist Mitchell Pearce while playing for Newcastle Knights, before joining Catalans Dragons

It’s been one of the most talked-about transfers in recent years, but Mitchell Pearce finally appears destined to make the move to the south of France.

There has been a lot of umming and ahhing from Pearce, who still has a year left on his Newcastle Knights contract, as he still appears committed to the NRL club.

However, the pull of a lucrative three-year deal in Perpignan with the Catalans Dragons looks too good for the veteran playmaker to turn down, with a deal expected to be confirmed by the end of the week.

And, one former Sydney Roosters teammate and current Hull KR star Brad Takairangi has appeared to confirm Pearce’s future lies in the Super League.

On a normal Instagram post detailing a spot of lunch for this brother-in-law’s 30th birthday, Pearce was hit with a comment by Takairangi that simply said “Bonjour.”

Likewise, another poster retorted: “Onya bud. Aye all the best in the English league.”

With Catalans facing the exit of James Maloney after two years at the French club, the Dragons were in need of a playmaker that can help them go to the next level in Super League.

And, with a three-year deal set up for Pearce, it appears as though chairman Bernard Guasch will have his man.
