Leeds Rhinos play in Super League at Headingley England rugby league

A study has revealed that one Super League stadium ranks as the fourth-best venue to watch rugby in the UK.

Betway have conducted a study where they have assessed 25 different rugby venues across both codes in the UK in order to find out which is the best.

The key factors analysed included; Google review score, capacity, the average cost of accommodation, transport, food options and Instagram popularity.

Combing those factors and assessing the results has seen Leeds Rhinos‘ Headingley Stadium rank fourth among rugby stadiums in the UK, but importantly being the only Super League ground to crack the top ten.

Also in the top ten were grounds such as the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and Murrayfield in Scotland, both national stadiums for their respective Wales and Scotland.

Not only did Headingley rank fourth generally, it ranked as the second-best for value for money with visits expected to cost just £72.56 on top of tickets (Hotel, public transport and a McDonald’s meal).

The study, conducted by Betway can be seen here with the top five stadiums, including Headingley, assessed with a further nod to Headingley’s affordability.

The study explained: “Taking first place is Cardiff’s iconic Principality Stadium, a venue synonymous with Welsh rugby and a cornerstone of the Six Nations. With a seating capacity of 74,500, an average Google rating of 4.7 out of 5, and a prime location just 0.2 miles from Cardiff Central Station, it is easy to see why this stadium is a favourite for fans seeking an electric matchday atmosphere.

“Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh takes second place. With a capacity of 67,144 and a Google review score of 4.6, this stadium will also be filled with fans for the Six Nations making it a perfect time to visit. However, fans will be faced with a steeper charge for overnight stays, at £102.13 per night in the Scottish capital.

“In third place, Coventry Building Society Area combines affordability and accessibility. Just 0.1 miles from Coventry Arena Train Station and boasting an average hotel cost of £60.96 per night, this 32,600-seat stadium is perfect for fans on a budget.”

Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium rounds out the top five. This multi-purpose stadium offers 27,000 seats for fans and a selection of 1,432 restaurants nearby.”
