Super League side totally written off ahead of Challenge Cup clash

Tomorrow the Challenge Cup quarter-finals get underway.

The road to Wembley is well and truly heating up and tomorrow Super League and World Champions St Helens head over to Hull FC hoping to continue on the road to London.

The Saints have only won one Challenge Cup since 2008.

Hull FC will be looking to upset the Saints but Eddie Hemmings and Paul Sculthorpe have totally written off Hull FC.

“I can’t see anyone stopping [St Helens] at the moment, the way their playing,” Hemmings said on The Last Tackle.

“The way Saints have suddenly started to play a bit, and I know they’re going up to Hull, it’s a tough old place to go, but haven’t I read that Hull have a few injury problems as well so they’re going to be a bit depleted. I can’t see beyond Saints at the minute.”

Then Paul Sculthorpe added: “I think if Saints turn in a performance of what they’re capable of, I don’t think Hull can live with them. On current form I just think Saints go into this full of confidence on the back of a great win against Wigan.

“We talk about your Welsby’s, your Lomax’s, I think all the Saints performances start on the back of such a good go forward, and I think the pack is on fire at the moment.

“Big Alex (Walmsley), Matty Lees, great to see Mata’utia back, Curtis Sironen for me is playing some outstanding football. I just think if they keep doing what they’re doing there’s nobody that can live with that.”
