Wakefield Trinity are one of just a few teams that have already got one pre-season friendly under their belt with their Boxing Day victory over Leeds Rhinos starting off Mark Applegarth’s tenure in style.
Despite that festive showing the team only played two of their four new signings with former Featherstone Rover, Morgan Smith, and NRL import, Renouf Atoni, both looking impressive.
That means that fans would have to wait to see the other half of their small recruitment drive don the Trinity shirt.
Those players are of course former Catalans Dragons’ star centre Samisoni Langi and then former Kiwi international and hard-hitting forward Kevin Proctor.
Proctor wasn’t even in the country for the Boxing Day game as he arrived in England on the 27th but via a tweet from the club’s Twitter account they’ve teased that both men could be in action this weekend.
Reece Lyne has his testimonial on Sunday against Halifax Panthers and the social media team at Trinity have been keen to remind fans to attend with the final new recruits set to appear.

Trinity have a very youthful squad heading into the season and they also have the youngest head coach in Super League so the experience of players like Proctor could be vital heading into the 2023 campaign.
