Super League side set to sign Australian centre

Most Super League clubs have already completed their business for the 2023 season.

Leigh Leopards used their last quota spot by bringing in ex-Leeds Rhinos prop Ava Seumanufagai but could still make up to two more signings according to boss Adrian Lam.

Salford Red Devils have one quota spot left but seem unlikely to use it before the new season.

The other club with quota spots open is the Catalans Dragons.

The French side have two spots open after the release of prop Dylan Napa and Josh Drinkwater’s move to Warrington Wolves.

They want to use one of their quota spots on Napa’s replacement though their options seem to be limited now with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves contracted to Sydney Roosters for 2023 and Seumanufagai joined Leigh and Marty Taupau joining Brisbane Broncos.

Meanwhile, the other spot is to be used on a centre after the move of Samisoni Langi to Wakefield Trinity and Dean Whare moving to the Elite One Championship for 2023.

As they look for a new centre, according to French publications L’Independent and Treize Mondial the Dragons will sign an Australian centre within the next 10 days.

However, the centre they’re likely to bring in remains unclear.

They have also signed Adam Keighran for the new season from Sydney Roosters. The versatile centre will take on one role whilst Tyrone May will likely replace Drinkwater in the halves with Mitchell Pearce the other halfback.
