Super League side set to lose huge number of star players

Recruitment is the topic being discussed by everyone at the moment especially after some big announcements and rumours. Wigan Warriors brought in former Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants hooker Kruise Leeming in a huge signing for Super League whilst Hull KR are being linked with some huge names from the NRL having already signed Oliver Gildart and former Warrington Wolves star Peta Hiku from down under as well as former Castleford Tigers target AJ Wallace from Bradford Bulls.

The rumours keep flying around with St Helens linked with a huge move for Daryl Clark to replace the retiring James Roby with Brad Dwyer of Hull FC expected to replace Clark at Warrington in 2024.

Continuing with reports and rumours, one of Roby’s former Grand Final teammates has been subject to rumours recently with Huddersfield Giants star Theo Fages linked with a huge move to Catalans Dragons.

This comes as the Dragons appear to be set for a huge rebuild and the departure of a whole host of stars, seemingly more than any other club.

Reports have suggested that Matt Ikuvalu is set to leave the club at the end of 2023.

Meanwhile, Adam Keighran is expected to join Tiaki Chan at Wigan Warriors in 2024.

Mickael Goudemand has agreed a move to Leeds Rhinos for next year whilst both Tyrone May and Mitchell Pearce have been linked with huge moves to the NRL.

Speaking of huge moves, Matt Whitley is expected to join Super League and World Champions St Helens in 2024.

The future of Michael McIlorum is also said to be considering retiring though Kruise Leeming’s decision to go to Wigan could change his stance on this.

Speaking of retirement, McIlorum’s former Wigan teammate Sam Tomkins is retiring at the end of an amazing career in 2023.

So the core of the team is set to leave and with Catalans currently top of the league, it feels like one last hoorah.
