Super League side seemingly suffer huge blow

Wakefield Trinity are still chasing their first win of the season and there is no extra pressure on them.

This is because on Thursday night Castleford Tigers defeated Leeds Rhinos meaning Trinity are the only side remaining who are yet to win in 2023.

It doesn’t get any easier for them as they take on Salford Red Devils this weekend away after the Red Devils won 60-14 against Hull FC last week.

The game kicks off at 15:00 at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The news is now in as well with Wakefield again having to name an injury ravaged side.

Liam Kay continues at fullback with Lee Kershaw and Jorge Taufua on the wings with Max Jowitt and Lewis Murphy out injured.

Corey Hall is back in the centres with Samisoni Langi unavailable after a head knock. Reece Lyne is the other centre as Mason Lino is joined by Morgan Smith with Lee Gaskell injured.

Huddersfield Giants loanee Sam Hewitt debuts off the bench as Harry Bowes debuts.

Alternatively Salford have seemingly suffered a substantial blow.

Star centre Tim Lafai is nowhere to be seen despite being named in the 21-man squad.

Matty Costello comes into the side at centre after dropping out of the 17 late last week. Rhys Williams continues on the wing in the absence of Joe Burgess.

Chris Atkin again surprisingly starts at 13.

Sam Stone returns and is named on the bench and is joined by Danny Addy.
