Super League side rejects move for Warrington Wolves’ Josh Charnley

Josh Charnley will leave Warrington Wolves at the end of the season.
The current Warrington Wolves star has been one of the main wingers in the Super League competition for the past decade and has been at the Halliwell Jones since 2018 following a spell in rugby union.
Speculation had been quashed emphatically by Charnley earlier in the 2021 season after rumours of a move away and the winger was determined to stake his claim for a wing spot under new head coach Daryl Powell.
But, he is out of contract at the end of the 2022 season and the third-highest try scorer in Super League history has sent out an ominous message on his future on social media giant Instagram, stating: “What next?” with a video of his highlights.
However, Charnley will not be at Warrington in 2023, but there won’t be a shortage of suitors for such a renowned try scorer.
One of those suitors will not be Wigan Warriors, however, which is the club where he made his name before heading to union in 2016.
“I like Josh, he’s a good player and a good lad but I’m not sure it’s something we would be looking at,” Wigan boss Matty Peet told Wigan Today.
“I wouldn’t read into rumours but I hope he gets sorted.”
