In a repeat of a play-off clash last season, Salford Red Devils host former coach Ian Watson and his Huddersfield Giants side.

Both teams have been up and down to start the season in terms of results but both have been performing well despite some closely fought defeats.

Last week perhaps summed this up the best as both sides lost in close games to last year’s top two.

That said, this puts extra pressure on getting a result in this game especially before rivals round.

The game takes place on Sunday at the AJ Bell Stadium kicking off at 3pm.

The squad news is now in and Salford are down to 19 men with Tim Lafai out and Andy Ackers still absent.

The same can be said of Oliver Partington as a real strain is placed on Paul Rowley’s squad.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield have some star power back in the mix.

Jake Connor is set to make his second appearance for the Giants since returning to the club after six years with Hull FC.

Jermaine McGillvary is back after hamstring and shoulder problems.

Jake Bibby is named after being dropped last week whilst Tui Lolohea and Matty English are back from injuries.

Josh Jones is still absent which exacerbates the loss of Harvey Litten last week.

Another man who was dropped last week, Leroy Cudjoe, is named in the squad as is Nathan Mason who Ian Watson said could leave on loan.

Olly Wilson is still absent with a back problem.
