Super League side could make MORE immediate signings

Wakefield Trinity are still battling to survive in Super League.

They have made a number signings and could yet more with Mark Applegarth saying they are on the lookout.

“We’re always on the lookout. We’ve had a bit of a torrid time with a few injuries so we’re always looking out but like anything it’s always got to be right for us, the player, the group,” he said on BBC Radio Leeds.

“We’re trying to progress our culture and we’re looking for people that will add to that so if the right people come along then our door’s open, as I’m sure is the case with most clubs.”

This came as Applegarth confirmed the club would be keeping Roman Franco and Hugo Salabio:

“We’ll keep them both till the end of the year. It’s a bit of a no-brainer with where we’re at so both of them will be kept until the end of the year.

“Obviously Hugo has got his ban to serve but after that he’ll be back in the mix. If anything it’ll give him a chance to get used to his teammates and how they play.

“Romain obviously caught everyone’s eye in the Leeds game and he’s kept his shirt purely on performance, and they’re tough calls but the calls you want to have to make.

“He’s done enough to get a chance at keeping that shirt.”
