Super League side chasing immediate signing

Warrington Wolves are looking for a new signing.

The Wolves are looking for a new middle forward.

They have been hit hard by injuries including to Joe Philbin last week.

Adding to matters, loose-forward Josh McGuire has been hit by a long term ban for a Grade F charge for unacceptable language.

Thus, the Wolves are looking to the NRL and across Super League for a middle forward after this as confirmed by Daryl Powell.

“We’ve been looking hard anyway for probably a middle unit forward,” Powell said on Wire TV.

“The boys are battling hard at the moment in the middle and Paul Vaughan last week is doing massive minutes and doing a great job.

“Ultimately, it is something we need to address soon.”

That said, Powell confirmed that the Wolves have nothing close at the moment:

“There’s nothing close at the moment. We’ve had a look at a few options here and Australia as well.”

The Wolves take on Huddersfield Giants on Saturday on Sky Sports.

They have lost the last two games to Leigh Leopards and Hull FC in the last two and have subsequently lost their spot at the top of the league.

The Wolves have recently been linked with the likes of Kelepi Tanginoa of Wakefield Trinity and Josh Kerr from NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons.
