The referee appointments for this week’s Super League semi-finals have been confirmed, with Leeds Rhinos to host Warrington Wolves before Wigan Warriors welcome Wakefield Trinity.
Of the four officials directly involved as either referee or video referee, three of the four officials who were involved in last week’s play-off eliminators remain with the only change being experienced Super League official Liam Moore replacing his brother Aaron.
Aaron Moore had taken charge of Warrington Wolves’ win over Hull KR in what was his first-ever Super League play-off match but he’s now been replaced by his older brother, who has officiated four of the last five Super League Grand Finals.
Chris Kendall retains his spot as referee, though he won’t referee Wakefield as he did last week. Instead, he will take charge of Friday night’s game at Headingley between Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves. Supporting him will be Liam Rush as the video referee.
Onto Saturday and it’s Liam Moore who takes charge of Wigan’s clash against Wakefield, with his brother Aaron as the reserve referee, and Jack Smith locked in as the video referee.
Instead, Aaron Moore will take charge of the Women’s Super League Grand Final on Sunday when Wigan Warriors host York Valkyrie, with Tom Grant the video referee for that game.
Liam Moore’s return to the play-off semi-finals is no surprise given his pedigree as an official with him and Chris Kendall the very best in the UK, with all of the last seven Grand Finals being officiated by one of the two men. Given that they are in charge this weekend for the semi-finals, it’s likely again that one of them will take charge of this year’s game at Old Trafford.

Best in Super League, what a total joke.
No Tara Louise Jones MBE, undoubtedly the best of the refs currently.
Odd she’s not been given one HKR match this season
