The predictions are in for Super League round eight with our pundits all agreeing for six of the seven ties this weekend.
Last week, there were only four games to predict with it being the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup, however after all three writers chose Wakefield Trinity to defeat Wigan Warriors, no one was able to pick up a clean sweep of points.
This week’s action starts at the MKM Stadium as Hull FC host St Helens. On Friday night, Hull KR travel to Toulouse Olympique before Huddersfield Giants welcome the visit of Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards look to overcome York Knights.
Wakefield Trinity play Bradford Bulls on Saturday, with a later kick-off that day seeing Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves do battle. The final game of the weekend sees Wigan Warriors take on Castleford Tigers.
Below are all our picks for the round, as well as an update on the predictions leaderboard.

Super League round eight predictions
Hull FC v St Helens – Thursday, April 16th – 8:00pm
Peter Smith: Hull FC 18-26 St Helens
Hull appear to be in a bit of disarray following the announcement of coach John Cartwright’s exit at the end of this season. Saints are running out of players, but finding ways to win and they still have enough quality to shade this.
Sam Cook: Hull FC 14-26 St Helens
St Helens keep finding ways to win regardless of how many players are absent through injuries. Whilst Hull FC could be galvanised by the situation around John Cartwright, I still don’t think they have enough here.
Sam Brocksom: Hull FC 20-30 St Helens
Saints go into the game on the back of a strong win over Catalans. Not only that, but Matty Lees returning is huge given FC’s pack is under-strength. The England international could be a difference maker at the MKM Stadium.
Toulouse Olympique v Hull KR – Friday, April 17th – 6:00pm (UK)
PS: Toulouse 10-42 Hull KR
Hard to see anything other than a big win for the Robins. Toulouse have had two weeks’ rest, but that won’t be enough to bridge the gulf in class.
SC: Toulouse 10-30 Hull KR
The Robins have started quick in recent weeks whereas Toulouse are notoriously slow but can work their way back into games. Willie Peters’ side should have plenty to deny that French fightback and come away with the win.
SB: Toulouse 12-34 Hull KR
Toulouse will have the fight, but their slow starts in games this season has been their downfall, something they can’t afford to do against KR. I don’t expect an outrageous scoreline, but I do think KR win quite comfortably this week.
Huddersfield Giants v Leeds Rhinos – Friday, April 17th – 8:00pm
PS: Huddersfield 20-28 Leeds
Both teams have won their past two games and Giants have improved massively with the return of key players, particularly their first-choice spine. Leeds, though, are close to full-strength and – if they play well – should win.
SC: Huddersfield 18-34 Leeds
The Giants have been much-improved in their last two as key players return but they’re playing the healthiest and one of the best teams in Super League, who will surely have too much.
SB: Huddersfield 16-30 Leeds
One of many interesting ties this week, Leeds should be winning this game but Huddersfield’s up-turn in form does suggest an upset could be on the cards. However, I’m opting for the favourites this week.
York Knights v Leigh Leopards – Friday, April 17th – 8:00pm
PS: York 20-18 Leigh
Both teams have been hard-hit by injuries and need a win. Leigh gave Warrington a scare last week, but York are highly competitive at home and a response to the Cup drubbing at Hull KR might give them a slight edge.
SC: York 24-26 Leigh
Two teams that are down on bodies and I think that will make for a real see-saw game that will be brilliant for the neutral. I’ll narrowly take Leigh to come out on top with their classy stars such as Ipape and Lam likely proving the difference.
SB: York 14-22 Leigh
Injuries have hampered both sides as of late, but Leigh having Edwin Ipape back is such a gamechanger, and after an improved effort against Warrington in the Cup I think Adrian Lam’s side get their third win of the season here.
Wakefield Trinity v Bradford Bulls – Saturday, April 18th – 3:00pm
PS: Wakefield 36-10 Bradford
Bulls are struggling for numbers with Waqa Blake and Phoenix Steinwede the latest names on their casualty list. They will have a dig, but Trinity’s eggs are all in one basket now and a reaction to last weekend’s Cup disappointment should power them to a comfortable victory.
SC: Wakefield 34-10 Bradford
Trinity crashed out of the cup last week in a narrow defeat to Wigan but they competed well. They now take on a Bradford side who are short on bodies and have not won away in Super League, two things that likely spell a comfortable home win.
SB: Wakefield 26-10 Bradford
How will Wakefield bounce back from such an agonising Cup exit? Well, they need to react quickly with Bradford, despite their injuries, proving no easy task this season. That being said, I’m backing a Trinity win.
Catalans Dragons v Warrington Wolves – Saturday, April 18th – 6:00pm (UK)
PS: Catalans 12- 26 Warrington
Catalans are another team with a lot of off-field distractions, including the sudden departure of coach Joel Tomkins. They have been more down than up this season, while it looks like it might be Warrington’s year.
SC: Catalans Dragons 18-24 Warrington Wolves
Catalans are near impossible to predict at times but at home they’re certainly a tougher test. That said, I don’t think they’ve enough to beat Warrington who will hope to extend their lead atop Super League.
SB: Catalans 12-38 Warrington
Sam Burgess’s side have won the last four games against Catalans, and with the Dragons currently going through a coaching exit I expect that winning run is extended to five games.
Wigan Warriors v Castleford Tigers – Sunday, April 19th – 3:00pm
PS: Wigan 30-6 Castleford
On a shortish turnaround and without their first-choice halves, Wigan could be vulnerable, but Tigers have shown nothing so far this year to suggest they can take advantage of that.
SC: Wigan 26-22 Castleford
I think this will be closer than many expect and a Cas win wouldn’t surprise me despite some of their torrid performances. Wigan are without both starting halves and could be without their two starting centres if Adam Keighran plugs the half-back role. Even so, I think their pack will have enough in a competitive game.
SB: Wigan 22-12 Castleford
On paper this should be a Wigan walkover but given their injuries, suspensions and Castleford’s bipolar performances in 2026, there could well be an upset. However, I think Matt Peet’s side have finally turned a corner after their two defeats back-to-back.
