Super League Round 19 attendances as two fail to reach 4,000 and surprise club tops list

The attendances are in for Round 19 of Super League, and despite sitting 13th in the table, it was Hull FC who drew the biggest crowd of the weekend.

The Black and Whites lost 32-22 to Leigh Leopards in the second game of Saturday’s triple header, but a scoreline of 28-0 at half-time meant there were plenty of boos ringing around the MKM Stadium as the players went into the sheds.

A second-half response made the full-time result look much more respectable, but overall it was another disappointing day at the office for Andy Last’s men.

Despite that, they still managed to pull in the biggest crowd of the weekend, as 11,843 fans turned up to support the side.

That proved to be the biggest crowd of the weekend, though one more tie did manage to break the 10,000 mark.

That was Warrington v Hull KR, who drew in an attendance of 10,025. Warrington bounced back from two straight losses to defeat the Robins, who, like their local rivals, were down heavily at half-time before showing improvement in the second half.

St Helens’ victory over Catalans saw just short of a five-figure crowd, with 9,866 fans witnessing a youthful Red Vee side see off Les Dracs thanks to a Man of the Match display from debutant Jack Campbell.

Odsal hosted a West Yorkshire derby on Thursday night, as 7,518 fans showed up to watch Wakefield Trinity defeat Bradford Bulls 26-12.

Two games this weekend failed to reach the 4,000 mark, with those being Huddersfield v Wigan and Toulouse v York, but a crowd of 9,2,96 witnessed Castleford Tigers pull off an upset win over Leeds Rhinos in one of the games of the season so far.
