Super League referee helps amateur game

World Club Challenge

Super League referee Liam Moore was on hand to help out in an amateur game this weekend.

The NCL Premier Division clash between Pilkington Recs and Lock Lane was put into doubt after referee Joe Turner picked up an injury.

Once the half time whistle went, it became evident that Turner would not be able to continue. He picked up the injury in an accidental collision with a Lock Lane player in the build up to a try.

But after a few phone calls were made, Moore volunteered his services and refereed the second half of the match.

St Helens side Pilkington Recs won the game 14-10 in their first game back in the Premier Division since their relegation in 2017.
