Super League referee confirmed for Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves’ Las Vegas clash

The referee has been confirmed for the Super League clash between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas.

Wigan and Warrington have already headed stateside with the two teams set to face off in Allegiant Stadium on Saturday as part of the NRL’s season launch.

The two Super League sides will face off before two NRL games and a women’s international between England and Australia takes place in a day packed full of rugby league.

For UK-based fans, the Wigan and Warrington clash will kick off at 9:30 pm with the action set to take place all the way through until morning.

The RFL have now confirmed the officials who will be involved in the clash between Wigan and Warrington, which is of course part of the Super League competition and therefore under RFL jurisdiction.

Last year’s Super League Grand Final referee Chris Kendall has been confirmed as the man to referee the game with Kendall set to be supported by Liam Moore as the video referee.

Kendall and Moore are widely regarded as the best officials in Britain with the pair sharing most of the major finals in recent years but they’ll now take to an even bigger stage in Las Vegas.

Liam Moore will also be in action for the England v Australia international where he will serve as a touch judge alongside Tara Jones, who was playing for England less than 18 months ago.

The appointments were confirmed by an RFL statement which also revealed which other officials will be involved in supporting referee Kendall and video referee Moore in Wigan and Warrington’s game.

Jonny Roberts and Richard Thompson will be touch judges, Tara Jones is the reserve official, Bob Connolly is the match commissioner, and Andy Smith is the timekeeper.

Kendall didn’t officiated a Super League game this past weekend on account of illness.
