Super League Referee Appointments: Kendall given week off

The officiating teams for Round 14 of the Super League season have been confirmed.

Every team is, once again, in action this week, playing across six fixtures, all live on TV.

On Friday night, Castleford will hope to make the most of their rest as they take on the new Challenge Cup winners, Wigan Warriors, at Wheldon Road.

Ben Thaler, back from a break, is really in the swing of things now, being referee for this one, while Chris Kendall features as video referee; he’s not the referee for any of the games this week, however, which the RFL have explained.

Elsewhere, a packed Craven Park will be entertained by Hull KR and Huddersfield Giants, as the Robins look to take advantage of an out-of-form Giants side that has just one win in their last seven games.

Tom Grant is referee here, while Liam Moore is video referee.

The other Friday night fixture promises to be an exciting one, as Warrington Wolves, off the back of a Wembley defeat, welcome Paul Rowley’s Salford Red Devils.

Aaron Moore is in the middle, while James Vella is back as video referee.

On Saturday, Leeds Rhinos will surely expect two points against a struggling Hull FC side, even at the MKM Stadium, as the Black and Whites have been beaten by every team they’ve faced this season.

Liam Moore is referee here, while his brother Aaron consulting the replays makes it an all-Moore affair.

Later, around 1,500 Leigh Leopards fans (a number that could have been more), will see their resurgent side face Catalans Dragons, who currently sit fifth in the table, in Perpignan.

Jack Smith makes the journey to Catalonia alongside video referee Liam Rush.

Finally, on Sunday, London Broncos host St Helens at the Twickenham Stoop, which sees Super League rugby on its pitch for the first time in over a decade.

James Vella is referee, while video referee is Tom Grant.

Here are the Super League referee appointments in full.
