
The referee appointments for Round One of Super League have been confirmed with Grand Final video referee Liam Moore taking the leading game.
Moore has been appointed as the referee for Thursday night’s season opener at the Brick Community Stadium between Super League champions Wigan Warriors and their local rivals Leigh Leopards in the Battle of the Borough.
Over 19,000 tickets have been sold already whilst Las Vegas legend Michael Buffer will also be in attendance as Wigan go all out to celebrate their involvement stateside on March 1st.
Wigan will face Warrington Wolves in Vegas and the Wolves travel to Huddersfield for their Round One game in the Battle of the Burgess Brothers as Tom goes up against Sam with Tom Grant in charge of that affair.
Those two games bookend Round One with two matches on each of Friday and Saturday, with Friday’s games involving both sides from Hull.
Hull FC travel to Catalans and will be ruled over by 2024 Grand Final referee Chris Kendall whilst Liam Rush takes charge of Hull KR versus Castleford Tigers at Craven Park that same night.
Onto Saturday and Rush will serve as video referee to Aaron Moore at Headingley when Leeds Rhinos welcome Wakefield Trinity back into Super League before Jack Smith oversees St Helens and Salford, a match that will be shown live on BBC Two.
