Super League Referee Appointments: Chris Kendall returns to action

Super League Referee Chris Kendall at Wembley

The Super League referee teams for Round 15 have been confirmed, with Chris Kendall returning to the field after a week off.

With every game this season being shown live on Sky Sports, once again, every game has a video referee assigned.

This week’s action kicks off with Hull KR travelling to Wheldon Road to take on a Castleford Tigers side that very nearly managed a victory over Wigan thus weekend.

Aaron Moore takes charge of this one, and James Vella consults the replays -he’s only on the field for an RFL Championship game this week.

On Friday, Wigan Warriors take on the bottom side London Broncos in just their fourth game in the league at the Brick Community Stadium this year.

Overseeing here is Liam Rush with Ben Thaler the video referee.

Elsewhere, Leeds Rhinos, off the back of a humiliating defeat to Hull FC, mark MND Awareness day as they host Leigh Leopards at Headingley, in a game which is expected to sell out.

This is where Chris Kendall returns to the pitch, and Jack Smith is the video referee.

The first of two games on Saturday will see Warrington, who slipped up at the weekend against Salford, attempt to avoid a repeat as they travel to face Hull FC, who aim for back-to-back wins for the first time in 2024.

The officiating team for this is TBC.

Later, Huddersfield Giants, who have lost six of their last seven games, look to pounce on a Catalans Dragons side in Perpignan that were defeated by Leigh last week.

Here, referee Liam Moore is assisted by video referee Aaron Moore, making it the second week in a row that the brothers have made up the officiating team for a game.

Finally, on Sunday, Salford Red Devils host a St Helens side that scored nine tries against the Broncos on Sunday.

Jack Smith is the referee here, while the video referee is Chris Kendall – the only role he took on in the last round.

Here’s the full list of every Super League referee appointment for this week.
