The referee appointments for Round Five of Super League have been confirmed by the RFL with Chris Kendall taking the game of the week.
He will be the referee when St Helens host Warrington Wolves on Friday night as both sides look to bounce back from defeat in Round Four of Super League.
St Helens lost out against Hull KR in a top of the table clash with the Robins producing a controlled performance to make a strong Saints side look ordinary, whereas Warrington fell to defeat against their former coach Daryl Powell as Wakefield Trinity won 30-16.
Both sides won this past weekend in the Challenge Cup, a competition where they will face each other in the quarter-finals with this match being the first of three meetings in the next six weeks.
Chris Kendall will officiate the game with Liam Moore serving as the video referee before he takes on arguably the second biggest game in Super League this week on Sunday.
Moore will officiate the clash between Hull KR and Leigh Leopards as the competition’s two unbeaten sides face off at Craven Park with Ben Thaler on video referee duties.
In a week full of standout games, Tom Grant oversees Thursday’s game between Salford and Huddersfield as Super League’s two winless sides face off.
On Saturday, Grant will act as video referee when Jack Smith referees Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors as both of those sides look to respond to Challenge Cup defeats.
Saturday’s other game sees Castleford host Catalans with Liam Rush in charge, a day after he serves as video referee in Friday night’s other Super League game between Wakefield Trinity and Hull FC.

Thank God he didn’t get Rovers versus Leigh, not sure which club would be least likely to lose with him in charge, possibly both if he could manage it.
