This weekend we will see Wigan Warriors battle Hull KR in the Super League semi-final as well as St Helens’ trip to France after defeating Warrington Wolves in the first week of the play offs.

Both games are obviously huge with a place at Old Trafford waiting for the winners.

Wigan and Hull KR have already met in a semi-final in 2023. They collided at the home of Leeds Rhinos, Headingley Stadium, in the Challenge Cup with Hull KR stunning a 12 man Warriors side.

Wigan will want revenge and a return to the Grand Final since 2020. The Robins are playing in their second Super League semi-final in three years.

As for the other game, it is a rematch of the 2021 Grand Final and Saints’ 10th consecutive semi-final.

The game will be the end of either Sam Tomkins’ or James Roby’s careers with both set to retire when their season ends.

Such big games, this begs the question who will feature as the officials?
