Wigan boss Adrian Lam has revealed that prop forward Tony Clubb is set to retire at the end of 2021.

The Londoner will be in contention to play his first game since receiving an eight-match ban back for using ‘unacceptable language based on national or ethnic origin’ against Hull FC’s Andre Savelio in May this year.

But, despite returning to action, Clubb will be hanging his boots up at the end of the year.

“I think Tony is of the mindset that this is his last year,” Lam said.

“I guess if he plays well enough and another club comes in for him, he’s got the option to do that.

“But I think Tony is focus is on getting our team back to winning ways and by breaking that down for himself is to come back and give us that leadership, and show us how to do it with his actions and his voice.”
