Super League prop makes surprise immediate loan move

We have seen the likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Hull KR all make big transfer moves in Super League.

Hull FC have allowed the immediate departure of Josh Griffin to Wakefield Trinity.

Meanwhile Warrington have drafted in Lachlan Fitzgibbon for the new season beating the likes of Leeds Rhinos to his signature.

Speaking of the Rhinos as they are linked with the likes of Danny Levi and Tyrone Roberts, have signed Mickael Goudemand.

Wigan have also signed a Catalans Dragons star in the shape of Tiaki Chan as well as former Leeds and Huddersfield Giants star Kruise Leeming and Sam Walters.

Hull KR have been busy ahead of next year but also the immediate term signing Brad Schneider for the here and now.

Now one of their young stars has made an interesting move.

Prop forward and Hull KR loanee at Newcastle Thunder Daniel Okoro has joined fellow Championship side Bradford Bulls for the rest of the 2023 season.

Okoro had initially signed for Thunder on loan from Hull KR at the start of the 2023 season and went on to make seven appearances in the Rhubarb and Custard.

The Nigerian international had been sidelined for the majority of the start of the season after suffering an injury but was part of the squad that was victorious against Keighley Cougars last month.

Speaking on his departure, Newcastle Thunder head coach Chris Thorman said: “On behalf of all at Newcastle Thunder we’d like to thank Dan for his efforts during his time here.

“The move has come about due to limited playing opportunities and we’d like to pass on our best wishes to him on the next chapter of his career.”

He is the first of a few new signings we could see at Bradford based off recent comments from the club.
