Super League promotion hopefuls announce 2023 themed fixtures including ‘Women in League’ and ‘Royal Rumble’

Featherstone Rovers

Featherstone Rovers have announced a series of homes fixtures this season will have themes surrounding them and some of the games will feature very traditional themes whilst others are way outside the box.

Rovers are set on a promotion push having finished second in 2022 and since then they’ve transformed their squad with a series of major signings including plenty of World Cup and Super League experience, with their new head coach Sean Long combining both.

That’s led the bookies to make Rovers favourites to secure promotion ahead of the 2021 promoted side, Toulouse Olympique.

With IMG taking over the game from a commercial aspect we’ve seen plenty of clubs try incentivise larger attendances with Batley capping all tickets at £10 per adult, Barrow offering 20,000 free season tickets to local school children and just yesterday Hunslet offered up free under 16 season tickets with accompanying adults paying just £5 per match.

As for Rovers they’re focusing on the gameday experience and with that they’re created a series of themes throughout the season for their upcoming campaign.

They announced the news on their website.

“The excitement for the upcoming season is growing by the day and the Rovers can now announce centralized themes for a number of our home games at The Millennium Stadium in 2023.

“As the club strives to develop on and off the field, a particular focus has been given to gamedays for this eagerly anticipated Championship campaign.

“The themes offer an alternative narrative to the day allowing the Rovers community to come together to celebrate causes and subjects as well as opportunities to broaden the exposure of our Women’s, LDRL and community teams.”

In total 11 of Rovers’ 13 home fixtures will feature a theme that will aim to enhance the experience from simply a matchday to an event for all those who show up at the Millennium Stadium.

Those themes include Women in League, Royal Rumble to celebrate King Charles’ coronation and a Northern Soul theme across the course of the season.
