Well another round of Super League is here and it promises to be a cracker.
Hull FC will take on Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium tomorrow night, with Leeds Rhinos and St Helens the Friday night game on Sky Sports.
Another six teams all play on Friday night with Castleford Tigers hosting Toulouse Olympique, Huddersfield Giants taking on Catalans Dragons and Hull KR hosting Warrington Wolves.
That will leave just Wakefield Trinity and Salford Red Devils to do battle on Sunday afternoon. But how will the teams fare?
Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC
Thursday night’s Sky Sports game sees Wigan take on Hull FC after both recorded stellar wins in the Challenge Cup last weekend. Wigan will be without young starlet Kai Pearce-Paul after he suffered an injury in the Warriors’ win over Salford. Bevan French, however, will be back for the Warriors for the first time in ten months as Brad Singleton also returns from suspension. Hull, meanwhile, have Luke Gale back from his five-match ban whilst Darnell McIntosh could play for the first time since round one. This should be an entertaining game, but Hull may well surprise one or two.

Castleford Tigers vs Toulouse Olympique
The battle of the bottom two in Super League – not many thought they would be saying that before the 2022 Super League season began. However, Castleford have won just one league game and one cup game this campaign so far, but they looked much improved against Leeds last weekend. That being said, Toulouse have been firing on all cylinders the past few weeks, losing by one point against Wigan, 12 against Wakefield and beating reigning champions St Helens at the Stade Ernest Wallon. Though home form will be key for the French side in 2022, Castleford should have enough here.

Leeds Rhinos vs St Helens
The Friday night Sky Sports game sees Leeds Rhinos take on St Helens. When the TV schedule was announced at the start of the season, no one would really have predicted Leeds to be so far down in the Super League table. However, Kristian Woolf’s men are living up to peoples’ expectations with just one defeat all year so far whilst Leeds have just one win. David Fusitu’a will be out for the Rhinos after undergoing surgery with Brad Dwyer also suspended. Saints, meanwhile, will have to do without Regan Grace, but Alex Walmsley and Morgan Knowles are back. Saints should be too strong, but surely Leeds can’t be as bad as they were last week?

Huddersfield Giants vs Catalans Dragons
This is one of the most interesting ties of the weekend with both sides in impressive form. Huddersfield have lost just twice in 2022 and Catalans just once – and that was against St Helens. Both also endured tough ties in the Challenge Cup, but secured their place in the Quarter-Finals. Ian Watson will have Theo Fages back, whilst Tui Lolohea is expected to return and Jaco Cogger is primed for his first appearance of the season. Catalans, meanwhile, will have Benjamin Jullien back from concussion, though there is still no place for the injured Arthur Mourgue or Julian Bousquet. Huddersfield may just pip the Dragons here, but it will be very close.

Hull KR vs Warrington Wolves
Hull KR booked their place in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals last week whilst Warrington crashed out due to a loss at home against Wakefield. The Wolves have lost four games in a row going into this one at Craven Park on Friday night, whilst KR have won two of their last three. And, the Robins will have Lachlan Coote in their ranks in place of the injured Will Dagger. Warrington will have captain Jack Hughes and prop Joe Bullock back in after injuries. Daryl Powell’s men are in a bad way at present and things may get worse at the weekend.

Wakefield Trinity vs Salford Red Devils
Probably one of the hardest to call this weekend sees Wakefield host Salford at Belle Vue with Trinity in great form, having won their last three games. Salford, meanwhile, went down to Wigan last Friday night, meaning the Red Devils have won just one of their last five games. Trinity are likely to have Tom Johnstone back from concussion protocols with the likes of Mason Lino and Jacob Miller in great form. The Red Devils, however, will be without James Greenwood following his horror injury sustained in the loss against Wigan. Wakefield are in good form and will continue that here.
