Super League Prediction: Massive twist in title race and play-off problems for two clubs

Last week we saw a vital win for Leeds Rhinos as Wigan Warriors were stunned by Wakefield Trinity in a weekend that saw Warrington Wolves and St Helens collided in a classic and Hull FC defeated Hull KR in the Hull derby.

It felt like a pivotal weekend in the Super League season with huge results in the race for top spot, the battle for the top four, the race for the play-offs and the battle for survival with Huddersfield Giants beating Catalans Dragons and Castleford Tigers being plunged into trouble as Leigh Leopards defeated them at the Jungle.

This week could be just as pivotal in the Super League season but who will be the winners and losers this weekend?

St Helens 14-12 Catalans Dragons
Potentially the Grand Final in waiting and a repeat of the 2021 decider. The Dragons go into the game just four points ahead of the Saints who have a game in hand on the French side. Saints could send a real message to the rest of the league with a win.

Huddersfield Giants 22-16 Wakefield Trinity
This is very tough to call. Huddersfield got back on the horse last week as they stunned league leaders Catalans but Wakefield are in red hot form. In the end home advantage for the Giants could settle matters.

Wigan Warriors 18-10 Warrington Wolves
Two top teams but two teams who lost last week which makes this game event bigger. Always a huge fixture between two of the biggest clubs in the game and two big rivals. Being at home could see Wigan edge what should be a brilliant game.

Leeds Rhinos 22-6 Hull KR
Ravaged by injury and with their eye on a Challenge Cup semi-final against Wigan, Hull KR will find it tough against a Rhinos side in great form who know that a win could see them move level on points with sixth place Salford.

Hull FC 30-14 Castleford Tigers
Castleford need a reaction to the victory of Wakefield Trinity last week which has reduced the gap between the two at the bottom of the league to just two points. However, going to a Hull FC side in form and on the back of a derby win means the Black and Whites will be tough to beat.

Salford Red Devils 20-28 Leigh Leopards
For the third time this season these two meet but if the last time they met you would have said that by July Leigh could go joint top with a win if Catalans lose at St Helens no one would have believed you. It should be a close game but the form of Leigh could see them edge it.
