Wigan Warriors remain favourites to win the Super League Grand Final despite being knocked off top spot in the table. Matt Peet’s side are now third in Super League after losing their last two outings, with their defeat to Warrington Wolves being convincing to say the very least.
That 40-4 win at the Brick Community Stadium was enough to take the Wolves to the Super League summit, with Hull KR taking the opportunity to jump ahead of the Cherry and Whites, too. However, Wigan’s wobble hasn’t been enough to persuade the bookies that they won’t be victorious at Old Trafford in October.
The Warriors are at 10/11 to win the Grand Final with Betfred and while that is slightly longer than the 8/11 price they were at a couple of weeks ago, it still makes them the clear favourites by some distance.
St Helens have lost their last five games in Super League as they continue to struggle with injuries and they have seen their odds of Grand Final success change considerably. They were at 3/1 earlier this month, but they’ve fallen down the odds list and can now be backed at 11/2.
Warrington are the new second favourites for success with their odds shifting from 8/1 to 7/2. The Wolves have never won a Grand Final, but their recent form has been impressive and they are attracting interest, it seems.
Hull KR have also seen their odds fall, with the Robins moving from 9/1 to 7/1 under Willie Peters. Catalans Dragons are at 10/1, even after the return of Sam Tomkins, while Leeds Rhinos have dropped from 50/1 to 33/1 following their first win under the stewardship of Brad Arthur.
The Rhinos will be keen to build up a head of steam under the Australian as they look to make a late push for the top six.
Super League’s predicted top eight according to Betfred’s Grand Final winner odds
1. Wigan Warriors – 10/11
2. Warrington Wolves – 7/2
3. St Helens 11/2
4. Hull KR – 7/1
5. Catalans Dragons – 10/1
6. Leeds Rhinos – 33/1
7. Salford Red Devils – 33/1
8. Leigh Leopards – 40/1

St Helens are losing too many key players to injury, they’ll do well to make the playoffs. Wigan vs Warrington final, then it’s up for grabs. Depends on injuries, key players, etc.

As bookies odds are partially based on how much money is being placed on each team and so reduce the amount of money they will lose if that comes about, I’m not sure what worth this list is meant to have?
If thousands of people went out and placed huge sums of money on Salford (as an example), their odds would come down dramatically but it wouldn’t give them any more or less chance of success.
