One Super League player faces a mammoth ban after he has been referred to tribunal this weekend.

Hugo Salabio is the player in question. The Frenchman recently joined Wakefield Trinity on trial.

He is one of a huge 11 players have been charged by the Match Review Panel this week.

Of the 11, four players have been fined and will receive no further punishments.

Meanwhile, two more have avoided punishment all together.

On top of this, four players have been handed bans with one player in the shape of Mitchell Pearce handed a ban and a fine.

Unsurprisingly, Salabio has been referred to tribunal and faces a mammoth ban for what the panel has deemed a spear tackle on Richie Myler yesterday.

He was sent off in the win against Leeds Rhinos.

His hearing will be heard tomorrow alongside any appeals.

He faces a minimum of six games suspended.

Following the latest round of Betfred Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:

Sam Hewitt (Wakefield Trinity) – Grade B Trip – 1 Match Penalty Notice
King Vuniyayawa (Salford Red Devils) – Grade A Dangerous Contact – £250 Fine
George Griffin (Castleford Tigers) – Grade A Dangerous Contact – N/A
Oliver Partington (Salford Red Devils) – Grade B Dangerous Throw – £250 Fine
Mitchell Pearce (Catalans Dragons) – Grade D Strikes – 3 Match Penalty Notice and £250 Fine
Matt Whitley (Catalans Dragons) – Grade C Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Jez Litten (Hull KR) – Grade B Kicking – £250 Fine
