Super League player could have played last game for club ahead of exit

This week, Hull KR confirmed that they have lost Sam Wood for three to four months.

On Wednesday, they made the following statement:

“Hull KR can confirm Sam Wood sustained a serious knee injury in the loss to Catalans at the weekend and will miss 3-4 months of action. We’re all with you Sam.”

Another huge blow for the Robins who have also lost Jordan Abdull for a possible up to 17 weeks.

It also means Wood could have played his last game with Willie Peters previously revealing Wood is set to leave.

“Ethan Ryan and Jimmy Keinhorst are looking at other opportunities elsewhere. I expect them to move.

“Sam Wood is the other, we’ve had some conversations and he wants to be a first team centre in the future.

“Sam is a very good player, and he will be for the rest of the season. I can’t guarantee Sam Wood he will be a starting centre.”

Wood has been linked with a move to Hull FC but more likely to the Castleford Tigers in 2024.

The Robins have signed backs Oliver Gildart and Peta Hiku for 2024 and drafted in former Leeds Rhinos man Corey Hall from Wakefield Trinity earlier this season in a swap deal for Will Dagger.
