Super League player bans

Liam Watts will look to lead from the front for Hull FC in 2018.

Following the second round of matches in the double-header weekend of Super League action, six Super League players have been charged by the RFL’s Match Review Panel.

Four of the six players cited come from the Catalans-Hull game played on Monday night in Perpignan.

Centre Josh Griffin faces the longest ban for grade B contact with a Match Official, but he does have an early guilty plea available to him.

Liam Watts has been charged with a grade A high tackle for the shot on Remi Casty that saw referee James Child show him a red card in the final few minutes of the match.

Catalans duo Sam Moa (punching) and Julian Bousguet (high tackle) also face grade A offences following the fiery contest in the South of France.

Elsewhere, Leigh centre Ben Crooks is charged with grade B dangerous contact for the challenge that saw him sent to the sin-bin during the Centurions’ heavy defeat against league leaders Castleford.

Meanwhile, Tigers’ second-rower Mike McMeeken has been charged with a Grade A high tackle following the game on Monday at the Leigh Sports Village.
