
The first week of the Super League play-offs drew in impressive viewing records.
Warrington’s tie against Hull KR, as well as Wigan vs Leeds, was watched by an average aggregate of 444,200 – up 39% on week one of the 2020 play-off series. The live average audience was also the highest since Round 1 this year.
Twelve games in the 2021 season have now been watched live by more than 200,000 viewers on average – the most since the 2015 season.
The average audience overall in 2021 of 153,250 is up an impressive 7.5% on last season.
BBC highlights produced a positive average audience of 188,000 – up 26.5% on last year’s week one play-off coverage.
Both semi-finals of the Super League and Championship will take place on Sky Sports on Thursday, Friday and Saturday respectively, with Catalans Dragons taking on Hull KR on Thursday and St Helens hosting Leeds Rhinos on Friday.
