Super League play-off games, dates and kick-off times confirmed

Super League Grand Final

After last night’s matches, the Super League play-offs are confirmed with dates, venues and kick-off times all locked in.

Dubbed as ‘Frantic Friday’ by Sky Sports, there was lots on the line with Hull KR and Warrington Wolves both battling for second spot and that all-important home semi-final.

Meanwhile, Leigh Leopards, St Helens and Leeds Rhinos were all in contention and looking to secure a top six spot with Catalans Dragons hoping that the door would be left open for them ahead of today’s clash against Hull FC.

Sadly for the French outfit, results went against them and barring a mammoth 181-point win over Hull FC they’ll be missing out on the play-offs.

It was also confirmed that Leeds Rhinos would miss out as they failed to beat Hull KR, who themselves secured a second-place finish which marked their best-ever result in Super League.

Leigh Leopards put in the performance of the night as they capped off their incredible second half of the season, beating St Helens 18-12 to tie down fifth spot with the Red Vee slipping to sixth.

With the league ladder now established, it means that we have details for the Super League play-offs which get underway next week.

The Super League play-offs begin in just under a week with the first game slated for Friday, 27th September, as Salford Red Devils host Leigh Leopards.

Paul Rowley’s gamble to rest his first team against Wigan Warriors paid off with St Helens’ failure to win meaning Salford still ensured a home tie.

That game will kick off at 8:00 pm and be broadcast on Sky Sports whilst the second eliminator will occur on Saturday, 28th September, with St Helens visiting the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Kick-off will be at 5:30 pm and the game will be aired on both Sky Sports and BBC Two.

The winners will then progress to the semi-finals where Wigan Warriors wait for the lowest-ranked team and Hull KR await the highest-ranked side. Those semi-finals will be played the week after with Hull KR hosting their game on Friday, 4th October, live on Sky Sports.

Wigan will then face off against the lowest-ranked winner on Saturday, 5th October, for a 5:30 pm kick-off aired on BBC Two and Sky Sports once again.

A week later, it’s the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday, 12th October with that 6:00 pm kick-off exclusive to Sky Sports.
