The Super League Man of Steel finalists have been confirmed with a list of 12 possible candidates whittled down to just three, and that includes two Wigan Warriors players.
Despite being snubbed for the Super League Dream Team, centre Adam Keighran is one of the three men to be nominated in the final three Man of Steel candidates.
His teammate Brad O’Neill and Leeds Rhinos’ full-back Lachie Miller are the other two men to be selected. All three men will attend Tuesday’s Rugby League Awards Night where the winner will be confirmed, meaning that there will be a new name on the trophy.
Last year’s winner Jake Connor was among the 12 names who were considered for this three-man shortlist but ultimately went unselected. Former winners Bevan French and Brodie Croft had also been considered.
Brad O’Neill already has a personal accolade to his name in 2026, having been voted as the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association (RLWBA) Player of the Year. He also featured in two of the three mid-season selections for the top five Man of Steel candidates.
As for Keighran, he topped the top five for the final third of the season, whereas Miller had topped the top five after the first nine rounds of the season. Currently out injured, he’ll play no further part in Leeds Rhinos’ season.
A statement from the RFL confirmed the three-man shortlist, stating: “Wigan Warriors team-mates Brad O’Neill and Adam Keighran, plus Leeds Rhinos full-back Lachie Miller, have been shortlisted for the 2026 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel.
“All three players have enjoyed stellar campaigns for their clubs, proving to be influential, inspiring, and consistent, firmly putting themselves in the reckoning for the prestigious prize as Betfred Super League’s top performer.”
The full list of players considered, something that was based on mid-season Man of Steel voting, is here: Lachie Miller, Jake Connor, Ash Handley and Brodie Croft (all Leeds), Brad O’Neill, Keighran, Bevan French and Jai Field (all Wigan), Jez Litten and Tyrone May (both Hull KR), Leigh Leopards centre Umyla Hanley and St Helens hooker Daryl Clark.
