Super League-linked centre Brian Kelly looks set to stay in the NRL for the 2026 season.
Warrington Wolves were linked with a move for Kelly back in September, with the Wolves said to have made him their number one target as they looked to recruit for the upcoming campaign.
However, despite Kelly being informed that he could leave Gold Coast Titans that move never materialised. And, Warrington have now made two centre signings for the new season with Albert Hopoate making the switch from the NRL to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Former Brisbane Tigers man Josh Smith has also joined the club as he looks to take the next step in his career and establish himself in the first grade.
Kelly still looks set to leave the Titans ahead of the 2026 season but it seems he won’t be following in the footsteps of his cousin Albert Kelly and making the trip over to Super League any time soon.
That’s because Parramatta Eels have made a move to sign the 29-year-old and according to the Daily Telegraph, the Eels are in talks with the Titans to secure his release.
That move comes following Zac Lomax’s decision to quit the Eels and leave the club short of outside backs.
After finishing 16th in the NRL table last season, the Titans are looking to turn over a new leaf under new head coach Josh Hannay, who will be assisted by former Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McDermott.
And, they have successfully managed to free up some cap space going into the 2026 season with one of their most notable departures being Reagan Campbell-Gillard, who has joined up with Jason Demetriou’s London Broncos for next season.
