Super League legends expecting title contenders to lose

Super League legends Paul Sculthorpe and Adrian Morley have backed one of the Super League title contenders to lose tonight.

They have backed Wigan Warriors to be beaten again by Hull KR, a Hull KR side missing key men Jordan Abdull and Lachlan Coote.

Wigan themselves do have some key absentees and Paul Sculthorpe believes this will see them beaten:

“Hull KR are buzzing at the moment, obviously in the bag for the Challenge Cup and riding high in Super League. You just see the confidence in that club, you know everything around it, the off-field stuff as well. It’s a club that’s buzzing.

“They’ve named a couple more signings this week as well for the fans for next year. I think they’ll really be going into this week with favourites.

“They’re against a Wigan side who are certainly not playing well, they’ve picked up some injuries, maybe some long-term injuries, Willie ISa, Ethan Havard and Kai Pearce-Paul, they’re going to be missing some players.

“Matty Peet’s already said they might have to dip into the academy and the pathways. So I think it’s a tough place to go at the best of times when you’re playing well, so I think it’s a tough game for Wigan.”

Speaking on The Last Tackle, Adrian Morley echoed this: “They did a job on Wigan at the start of the year as well, didn’t they? We speak a lot about confidence in our sport and they’re absolutely oozing with it at the moment.

“I agree with Scully, it was a really tough place to go, Hull K.R.’s home ground. I agree with Scully, I think Hull K.R. will be slight favourites but you can never write Wigan off but it’s going to be a fantastic fixture.”
