This week is all about England as they take on France this weekend in the first step on the journey towards the 2025 World Cup.

There was so much debate around whether Shaun Wane should be kept in the hotseat after losing in the semi-finals last year.

However, the decision was made to stick by him for the next World Cup and legendary Super League and NRL star has backed him as the right man:

“Up until that semi they were on fire and even in the semi having done everything wrong they were still in a position to snatch it. It was disappointing but he blooded a lot of young lads but I just think under Shaun Wane, he’s the best man for the job.

“I think the England team is looking as good as it has for a few years.

“He wears his heart on his sleeve, I met him the day after. I know he took it hard and personally, that’s what you want from a coach. The fact that he’s hurting shows he cares about the country and his job.

“I got asked who I would have as coach whilst he was negotiating and I said that I don’t think there’s a better men for the job. I’m delighted they gave him another contract.”
