Super League legend claims Zak Hardaker should have been sent off

Leigh Leopards have been reduced to 11 men becoming the third team in four Challenge Cup quarter-finals to reduced to 12 men this weekend.

First they suffered a red card. The red card went the way of Kai O’Donnell for a dangerous tackle.

The incident was a tip tackle from the impressive Leigh forward.

York were naturally massive underdogs going into the game but against 12 men they have as good a chance as any to claim the win.

The Knights thought they had taken the lead. It was an early wake up call for the Leopards.

Leigh, you’d think, are still favourites.

They are third in the league going into the game.

However, things got tougher for them when Zak Hardaker was sin binned for a dangerous tackle himself.

O’Donnell becomes the third player this week to be shown a red card.

However, in the mind of Paul Cooke, it should have been a red.

The former Hull FC and Hull KR man messaged Viaplay commentator Mark Wilson to say that “the only reason Zak Hardaker wasn’t sent off was because a Leigh player has been sent off already.”
