A number of players have suffered fresh injury concerns after the latest round of Super League action.

Here’s a round-up of all the players that may face play-offs.

The Robins’ full-back missed the side’s biggest game of the season due to a calf injury.

Via the BBC, head coach Willie Peters said: “Niall hurt his calf yesterday.”

“It tightened up so we sent him for scans, it’s nothing too serious but he didn’t pass the strength testing.”

A game against Leigh Leopards is up next for Hull KR; it remains to be seen as to whether he’ll return for that one, or whether Jack Broadbent will have to reprise his full-back role.

Evalds isn’t the only concern for Peters, as Sauaso Sue has suffered a wrist injury that is set to be assessed for its severity.

The forward will be a big miss if he’s ruled out of their upcoming fixtures.

Alex Mellor – Castleford Tigers

It could have been a great weekend for Alex Mellor – he was named Castleford Tigers‘ Player of the Season on Saturday night, in large parts due to his excellent performances filling in at centre for another man that could have been in the conversation if not for injury – Sam Wood.

However, he left the field for a head injury assessment on Friday night, and further setbacks are not what the Tigers need at the end of the Super League campaign.

Umyla Hanley – Leigh Leopards

Surely the Leopards’ Young Player of the Season, Hanley left the field due to a back injury against Castleford, but it seems to be a minor problem.

Head coach Adrian Lam said after the game: “With Umyla, it’s a bit of a nerve thing through his back. We’ll just have to check out what that is as soon as we can look over it.

“It was a precautionary move to get him off, and he probably could have gone on at a pinch towards the end (of the game).

“I don’t know if that’s 100% correct, but I made a decision not to even think about putting him back on with what’s left of the season.”

Ipape didn’t travel with the squad, but Lam says that he, too, should be back before long.

“Edwin’s just had a bit of a sore shoulder on a point,” the Leigh Leopards boss added.

“It wasn’t worth coming here and risking him with what’s left of the season. but that won’t be an issue.

“Edwin will be right next week.”

Alex Walmsley – St Helens

Things aren’t getting any easier on the injury front, and Saints now have a knee injury to Alex Walmsley to deal with.

It’s vital that they defeat Castleford next week if they’re to feature in the Super League play-offs this year.

Harry Robertson – St Helens

The young full-back was forced off the field against Warrington this weekend, and Wellens has said, via Love Rugby League: “Harry’s got a bit of an issue with his knee, which is why he had to leave the field and why Jack Welsby moved to full-back.

“The plan was not to play Jack at full-back at all because of the discussions we’d had with the physios (about his return).

“We’ll get Harry assessed, it’s hard to tell (how he is) at this moment in time.”

He’s been a revelation for St Helens this season, so they’ll be hoping for a swift return.
